LACONIA, NH- Lakes Region Mental Health Center will host its Annual Meeting from 5-6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 virtually via Zoom Webinar. The meeting will feature the presentation of two community awards. The meeting will also include a guest speaker, recognition of LRMHC board members, and business updates.
“We are very excited for our annual meeting, even if it looks a little different this year,” said Ann Nichols, Director of Development and Public Relations. “We also look forward to presenting awards to two very deserving individuals who work tirelessly to promote and advocate for mental health awareness in our community and New Hampshire.”
Eric Adams, a prevention, enforcement and treatment officer for the City of Laconia Police Department, will receive the Helen Holbrook Service Award. This award is given to an individual who leads by example and gives of themselves to strengthen the cause of mental health in the Lakes Region.
Cinde Warmington, a healthcare attorney at Shaheen & Gordon, P.A., and serves as the chair of the Health Care Practice Group, will receive the Dr. Pete Harris Award. This award is given to an individual who promotes increased awareness, sensitivity, understanding and acceptance of mental health issues in the Lakes Region through educating the public.
The guest speaker will be Lisa Morris, MSSW director, Division of Public Health Services for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. Ms. Morris will provide an overview on the work of public health and information on the impact of COVID-19 on individual and population health. The presentation will include discussion on the social determinants of health, behavioral health, and equity, with a focus on populations disproportionately impacted by the virus. Lessons learned on pandemic planning and response will also be discussed.

The Lakes Region Mental Health Center, Inc.is designated by the State of New Hampshire as the community mental health center serving Belknap and southern Grafton Counties.
