WHAT DOES LAKES REGION MENTAL HEALTH CENTER DO?

Lakes Region Mental Health Center (LRMHC), is a private, non-profit organization designated by the State of New Hampshire as the community mental health center serving Belknap and southern Grafton Counties in New Hampshire. Founded in 1966, LRMHC provides comprehensive, integrated mental health treatment for people living with – and recovering from – mental illness and/or emotional distress. In Fiscal Year 2020, LRMHC’s 200 employees served 4,089 children, adults, older adults and families and provided over $1.2 million dollars of charity care.

Core programs include: counseling & mental health services for children and adults, psychiatric emergency services, addiction treatment and recovery, residential and employment programs for adults, neurocognitive services for older adults and community wellness education.

Evidence-based models of treatment guide all of our work, and we are committed to our mission of providing quality, accessible and integrated behavioral and physical health care services. Recovery is possible.

LRMHC offices are located in Laconia and Plymouth.

2020 ANNUAL MEETING

2020 COMMUNITY AWARDS

During the 2020 LRMHC Annual Meeting, CEO Maggie Pritchard presented two community awards.

Eric Adams, a prevention, enforcement and treatment officer for the City of Laconia Police Department, received the Helen Holbrook Service Award. This award is given to an individual who leads by example and gives of themselves to strengthen the cause of mental health in the Lakes Region.

Cinde Warmington, a healthcare attorney at Shaheen & Gordon, P.A., and serves as the chair of the Health Care Practice Group, received the Dr. Pete Harris Award. This award is given to an individual who promotes increased awareness, sensitivity, understanding and acceptance of mental health issues in the Lakes Region through educating the public.

2020 ANNUAL MEETING

Lakes Region Mental Health Center hosted its Annual Meeting Oct. 27 virtually via Zoom Webinar. The meeting featured the presentation of two community awards. The meeting also featured a guest speaker, recognition of LRMHC board members, and business updates.

The guest speaker was Lisa Morris, MSSW director, Division of Public Health Services for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
