Christine Alvarez has worked in the mental health field for over 16 years. Prior to joining Lakes Region Mental Health Center in 2022, Christine worked in a variety of leadership roles including as Chief Clinical Officer of Adult Services at Alaska Behavioral Health and Assistant Executive Director at the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County.

In the past few years, Christine has been instrumental in securing over 8 million dollars in federal and state funding to expand services for those experiencing mental health and substance use related issues. Christine completed a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling. Christine is licensed as a licensed professional counselor in Alaska, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.  Christine is an active member of her parish and enjoys cooking, hiking with her family (and chocolate lab, Flannel) and cheering for her son at his many hockey games.

Lakes Region Mental Health Center provides comprehensive, integrated mental health treatment for people living with – and recovering from – mental illness and/or emotional distress.
